Although it is not the top flash card reader available, the SanDisk MobileMate Memory Stick Plus 4-in-1 Reader is an excellent choice for an external card reader. Where many computers are beginning to have built-in SD card slots, flash card readers for memory sticks is a growing industry. It doesn’t offer the versatility of some card readers, but it's one of the few external card readers that will read all four of the memory stick formats offered through this reader.

SanDisk’s external card reader comes in two color choices: green or black. The flash card reader has two slots for the compatible memory cards, and the USB plug is covered by a removable plastic cover. The hard plastic, although not indestructible, is durable and safe when traveling in a pocket or a in a bag or purse.

Each of the memory cards will fit into one of two card slots in the external card reader. The flash card reader was easy to use, and it was not hard to figure out which card goes into which slot. We were extremely pleased that, like other popular card readers, the SanDisk external card reader doesn’t require software to use. If a card needs a driver an install wizard should come up automatically to lead you through a quick installation. It is compatible with each major operating system: Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Mac OSX. Simply remove the cap and plug it into your computer’s USB port and you are ready to access all the data on your chosen memory stick.

Also, having the option to contact them in a number of ways was convenient and allowed users to stay within their comfort zones. Many users appreciated the versatility offered and being able to contact SanDisk without leaving their comfort zone.

Each card reader created by SanDisk does come with a two-year warranty. Although we never had a need to test the warranty (the card worked properly and as promised) we believe that the representatives at SanDisk are excellent to work with they will ensure that all your inquiries are properly addressed.
